Hi guys, after struggling a lot to find the best pdf app for ipad..I came to know that there is no such thing as “the best pdf app”
First of all let me tell you guys something,
I am a doctor. I spend most of the time reading large pdf files for loooooong periods of time. When I say large, I mean large..yeah.. each file measuring about 500 Mb or so.
Its quite obvious now, friendly and smooth interface along with good annotation features are a must for me.
Pdf Expert costs you 10 dollars for ipad version itself. Is it worth it?
So, lets jump into app. I will focus mainly on the cons/ pitfalls of the app, which were ignored by many reviewers.

1) Page Rendering
I must say, app does extremely well in rendering pages quickly.

However, here is the problem. The crop feature doesn’t work on the scanned documents. This is what you will be shown. Sad that even free apps do crop scanned files well.

2)Highlighter
Highlighter is well placed, extremely easy to use. However, here is the disappointment. When set to 100 % opaque, it simply blocks out the letters completely.

Here is a sample pic from other app( cost 3 $), with highlighter set at 100%

Are you guys listening? Hey..Readdle..huh?

3) Guys, can you believe that an app with “Expert” in its name doesn’t have an option to create hyperlinks with in.
Trust me guys, this is extremely useful, when you are reading Q and A books, where lot of juggling with in pages is involved.

4) THERE IS NO MAGNIFYING GLASS
Yeah, you heard it right. There isnt one. Even dead cheap apps provide it.
Here is the difference

Here is a picture from another app with magnifying glass

5) THERE IS NO FILTER IN ANNOTATION SEARCH
With thousands of annotations, it would be a nice addition, so that you can go through your voice annotations or notes or high lights in a time efficient manner. Instead, now you will be subjected to whole jungle of annotations mixed.

6) No OPTION TO EXPORT YOUR VOICE ANNOTATIONS
You take all the strain to add voice annotations to your specific pages of your pdf files, only to find that you couldn’t listen to them in any other app or other device. Strictly restricted to the app.

7) The ink is not realistic. The pen doesn’t even sense the stroke pressure or speed…too basic for the costliest pdf app in istore.

These are few set backs guys, will update the list soon.
So, the q is
IS PDF EXPERT really an expert?
ANSWER : NO, IT ISNT. IT ISNT WORTH 10 $

Let me know your opinions in the comments or in twitter. Will come back dissecting other pdf apps
